Dr. jur. Britta Seidel
Dr. Britta Seidel is an Attorney-at-Law based in Munich since 1989. She studied law majoring in European Community Law and International Private Law in Munich, Lausanne, Geneva and Strasbourg, and holds a Ph.D. in International Private Law from the Free University of Berlin.
Subsequent to her initial work as an attorney for (international) trade law and (international) law of succession with a law firm in Munich, she specialized in technology transfer and management of intellectual property in the research and development context. She became a legal consultant for Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, for institutes active in applied research, for high tech SMEs, in particular life sciences, renewable energies and software development, and for innovation management enterprises based in EU-member states.
As of 2005 she participated as legal expert and trainer in a variety of EU-funded projects with a focus on technology transfer and entrepreneurship, particularly as an expert for helpline and training services of the European IPR-Helpdesk.
Her main consultancy fields comprise setting up institutes, joint ventures, and spin-offs of non-profit R&D institutes and Universities, drawing up IP strategies, drafting and negotiating contracts covering R&D projects through all phases from acquisition to commercialization of project results on national and international level, including EU-funded projects, training services, and writing studies on issues related to Intellectual Property Rights, Copyright and contractual IP management.
